Two Galway men have pleaded guilty to the theft of more than €110,000 from an elderly woman in the city on various dates in 2014 and 2015.

Rte.ie are reporting that Thomas Coen, 45, with an address at Old Monivea Road, Galway, and his brother, 37-year-old Michael Coen, from Corrib Park, Galway, were before Galway Circuit Criminal Court.

Thomas Coen pleaded guilty to 30 counts of theft.

The court heard that he had taken sums ranging from €100 to €4,650 from the woman on dates between 17 June and 30 August 2014.

The offences occurred at her home on the Headford Road in Galway and involved the theft of a total of €44,050.

Michael Coen pleaded guilty to eight counts of theft on dates between 29 September 2014 and 27 October 2015.

The sums of money involved ranged from €4,000 to €30,000 and had a combined total of €70,700.

All the offences occurred at the same address.

Sentencing was adjourned to next month to allow for the preparation of probation reports on both men.

They have been remanded on continuing bail until then.
