A Galway punter walked away with over €15,000 after putting his faith in Brandon Stone to win the Scottish Open yesterday.

The South African shot a course record round of 60 to claim the Scottish Open, and one punter from Co Galway had placed a €25 euro each-way bet in a Boyle Sports shop at odds of 500/1.

The payout was €15,050 - which means the Galway punter pocketed more from the event than some of the field, with Graeme McDowell walking away with just under €15,000 for his four days.
