The National Ambulance Service will operate from the Loughglynn Ambulance Base from today.
Roscommon Fine Gael Senator Maura Hopkins says the HSE has confirmed that the ambulance service will be operating an additional emergency ambulance in Loughglynn five days per week and two nights per week.
This service will see crews operating and reporting from the base in Loughglynn, with additional support provided from Roscommon.
However, there is no clarity yet as to which days the base will operating on or how many staff will be there.
Senator Hopkins says these are some of the questions she will be putting to Martin Dunne, Director of the National Ambulance Service, when she meets him on Tuesday August 21st.
