Up to 600 people packed the hall in Ballycroy last night for a public meeting over the planned closure of the local Post Office.

Gerry Loftus of the Irish Natura Hill Farmers Association(INHFA) was in attendance and he says that the community are resolved to appeal the decision by An Post, and hope that the fact that Ballycroy Post office serves the islanders on Inshbiggle that will strengthen their argument.

He told Midwest News today that the retention of the Post Office in the village is vital.
