The Transport Minister Shane Ross needs to travel to Co Roscommon to see the dangerous crossroads that still exist on the N5 at Tarmonbarry, Scramogue, Tulsk and Frenchpark.

That's according to Roscommon-Galway Fianna Fail TD Eugene Murphy who has welcomed the work that has been carried out at various locations along the N5, but says more needs to be done.

Deputy Murphy says motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are taking their lives in their hands every day at these crossroads, while traffic calming barriers are needed in villages along the N5, as well as an increased level of hedge and verge trimming.

He's expressed concern about the number of accidents taking place along the N5, and says a Health & Safety Assessment needs to be carried out...
