“Save Rural Ireland Mayo” says they are seriously concerned that there are no successful applicants to take over the running of Ballycroy Post office.

Spokesperson Gerry Loftus says what he initially feared is now coming true in that these new contracts were not fit for purpose and that postmasters would not sign them.

Mr. Loftus says there were two applicants in Ballycroy but could not sign an unviable contract.
