Sarah and Alan Hayes and their five children in Cloonfad, county Roscommon are recovering from the trauma of their home catching fire on Wednesday evening last.
The Hayes family in Cloonfad returned home,to see their house ablaze and fire brigades from Claremorris and Ballyhaunis attended the scene and got the blaze under control.
No one was injured in the incident as the entire family was out of the house when the fire broke out, however, extensive damage was caused to the property and is now not fit to live in.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
The seven strong family have moved into Sarah’s mother home Tina Cullen in Cloonfad for a few days but are to be re-housed within a few days.
Tina told Midwest News today that while the family are traumatised by the fire, but they are overwhelmed with the generosity of people generally who are offering to assist them.
