The Justice Minister's welcomed 22 Syrian families to Ireland today under the Irish Refugee Protection Programme.

Charlie Flanagan says it's important to remember at this time of year, that across the world, people have been forced away from their homes and families by war and terror.

In total, 105 people have been resettled to Ireland today including 58 children.

James Gannon, volunteer coordinator with Refugee Support Ballaghaderreen, says the refugees that have arrived in Ballaghaderreeen today had a painful journey to get here.
