Met Eireann has updated its status yellow snow-ice warning, and is forecasting very cold temperatures this week, with showers of hail, sleet and snow frequent across the west and north of the country, where some significant accumulations are possible this evening and overnight.

Widespread frost with icy stretches on untreated surfaces can be expected and there's the potential for further significant snowfall in place on Thursday.

The snow-ice warning remains in place until Saturday, and will be updated again tomorrow.
