150 new jobs are being created over the next five years at a manufacturing facility in Co Mayo.
Meissner Filtration Products is opening a new facility in Castlebar.
The roles include manufacturing, quality and regulatory, engineering, and customer service.
In order to be operational in the first quarter of next year, Meissner will take advantage of a brand new existing 34,000 ft2 Advanced Technology Building constructed by the IDA in Castlebar, expanding it to 100,000 ft2.
Meissner has also purchased the adjacent land in order to be able to more than triple the facility’s current footprint.
The company plans to install a substantial state of the art cleanroom within the existing facility to be used for the manufacture of Single-Use Systems (SUS) that support their biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical client base.
The investment is supported by the Irish government through IDA Ireland.
Speaking to Midwest News at today’s launch Chris Meissner CEO of the company there were a number of reasons he chose Castlebar and among those was the top talent of local workforce in the field.
