State buildings and heritage sites across the country will be lit in green this weekend, for the St Patrick's festival.

The OPW will light heritage sites and State buildings from tomorrow until Monday using green filters, specialist lamps and existing lighting control systems.

In the West, Athenry Castle in Co Galway and Boyle Abbey in Co Roscommon are among the sites included in the Greening celebration.

in Dublin, Aras an Uachtarain, Dublin Castle, Custom House, Leinster House and Government Buildings, Iveagh House, and the National Museum are among the buildings going green for the weekend.
