Mayo players secured 6 Football All star Awards last night and Andy Moran was named 2017 Footballer of the Year at the PwC All Stars while Galway's Joe Canning is the Hurler of the Year.
The Ballaghaderreen forward, who turned 34 yesterday, was the top scorer from play in this year's football Championship with 3-24 across Mayo's 10-game run to the All-Ireland final - he hit crucial goals in the semi-final draw and replay victory over Kerry.
Andy also picked up his second All Star award last night.
Galway’s Joe Canning claimed the Hurler of the Year prize.
He starred up front for the All Ireland Hurling Champions Galway this year.
The Portumna clubman scored 46 points in Galway's five-game campaign.
Canning also earned his fourth All Star award as one of seven Galway players selected last night in the Hurling All star Awards.
The Young Hurler of the Year is Galway’s Conor Whelan, who scored 17 points from play throughout the Championship.
All Ireland Champions Dublin ended up with seven All Stars,Mayo secured six, with beaten semi-finalist Tyrone and Kerry picking up one apiece.
Mayo’s 2017 All star recipients are Goalkeeper David Clarke , Corner-backs Chris Barrett and Keith Higgins and wing-back Colm Boyle. Together with Aidan O’Shea in the half forward line and forward Andy Moran.
